Hand-carved rings

The creation of these handmade and hand-carved rings involves a traditional metalworking process that showcases the skill, creativity and patience of the artisan. The process starts with pure silver granules, which are melted in a clay bowl using a foot-powered bellow. The melted silver is then poured into a mold and hammered to create a flat piece of metal that is then bent into a ring shape.

The artisan draws the design directly onto the silver using a pencil and imagination to create unique and one-of-a-kind designs. The raw ring is then placed into a block made of Damar tree resin, powder of red brick, and coconut oil. The artisan heats one spot of the resin to secure the ring in place, then uses hand-crafted chisels made from recycled wheel spokes to carve the design.

To finish off the ring, the artisan rubs a special solution onto the finished piece to blacken the crevices and add contrast, then gently hammers the exposed silver surface to create a textured look. Finally, the stone is set in place to complete the process and bring the design to life.

Each step of the process requires precision, skill, and patience, and the end result is a unique masterpiece that showcases the artisan's talent and creativity. From the first spark of imagination to the final stone setting, the creation of these hand-carved silver rings is a testament to the beauty of traditional metalworking techniques.
