A collaborative project between Flemish artist Jyoti Parenco and Susanna Perini, Founder and Creative Director of BIASA Group. The project started as a fun experiment and developed into a significant collaboration that is still on going. Jyoti creates abstract paintings with an understanding for the simple clothing lines of BIASA. Susanna directs the balances of the wearability and ensures the project is treated as an art project, while extending it to an unlimited audience by being wearable. Each painting—acrylic on canvas—has been conceived and realized in the caftan size and printed on very light silk in editions of 100 prints only, respecting original sizes. Each kaftan is numbered and comes with an authenticity certificate signed.

“This project underlines my desire to offer an outlook into authenticity of some sort in making items to wear. There is a personal relation ship with each piece, through the signature and the limited amount produced. It‘s a way to offer to the person who will buy and wear it, a true “benang merah” that links the customer to the source. It’s a sort of sharing the experience through a tangible sign.”
